Michael was born in Charleroi, Belgium, to parents of Ukrainian heritage. He currently resides and works in Toronto. He pursued studies in History and Fine Art at the University of Toronto, and furthered his education at Sheridan College of Applied Arts & Technology.
Michael’s artistic journey and range of artistic expression has been evolving for more than three decades. His early pieces were in acrylic and mixed media on canvas, paper, and hard surfaces examining the interplay of shapes, textures, and vivid colours, influenced by artistic styles of Hans Hoffman, Jackson Pollock, Frank Stella and others.
In his Digital Art, he delves into the relationships between abstract shapes, vibrant hues, and diverse light sources, crafting visual illusions that reflect the styles of Op Art, Abstract Expressionism, and Conceptual Art.
His work is part of private collections in Canada and Hungary.
